Summer 2018 Reading Lists

 Summer Reading

Below you will find a link to the Summer Reading List.  Please refer to this list throughout the summer.  I ask that parents of students in grades Pre-K through Second grade to carve out some time each day to read to your child.  Repeating the same book over and over again has true value in developing fluency in your child’s reading habits.  For those of you who have students who are already reading chapter books, I encourage you to read the same book and find time to engage in conversation about the book.  This will have lasting impact on your child as a lifetime reader.  Students in grades 3-8 should be reading at a rate where they complete at least 2 books a week.  These summer months allow us to build stamina in our children as readers.
