7th and 8th Grade Social Studies - 8B

  • Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians welcome to my teacher website!

My name is Rob Kowalski, Mr. K, and I am very blessed to be the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Social Studies teacher here at St. Matthias. It is my mission to provide an objective and comprehensive focus on the craft of studying and researching history. With that in mind, I am very well aware of the importance of literacy in the classroom more specifically: reading, writing, and speaking/listening. My classroom will encompass all these tenets on a daily basis to prepare them for the rigors of high school and beyond. My goal is to create a firm research/evidence foundation for my students so that they may prosper and succeed in high school, college, and whatever professional field they may choose.

However, I am not going to succeed at this goal if I don't have your support. At home support is crucial to my classroom learning objective as history is an ever changing entity and feedback and discussion from multiple angles and perspectives is not only wanted, but encouraged. Discussion based lessons are of prime importance and so, your input along with your child's is highly valuable to their evolution of understanding history.

I also do not use this site to post homework. I use google classroom exclusively as it is easy to use and to access.

If you have any thoughts, questions, or comments please don't hesitate to ask or email. I firmly believe in the power of communication and hope to hold an open dialogue on a myriad of issues concerning the school, my classroom, students, and my lessons.

It is a pleasure and honor to work at such a school with pedigree as St. Matthias and I hope to get to know and work with each of you. Thank you so much for your time and have a wonderful day,
