                                                                                                  welcome back

Hello and welcome, Stars of 3A, to the 2019-2020 school year. I am very excited to be your third grade teacher. It is going to be an exciting and fun year of learning, friendships, celebrating your successes of third grade, and, most importantly, listening, reflecting and responding to  God’s word.

Third grade is a big step that comes with responsibility and respect for one another. We will be focusing on these ideas throughout the school year. We will be doing many small and large group activities. These will be great opportunities for you to get to know your classmates in a special way, and perhaps, for you to learn something new about them. A partnership in learning opens your mind to new ideas. We all have awesome ideas to share with one another, and, at times, teach each other. God gave us all special talents, abilities and skills to use, making us who we are. He wants us to use these special gifts for the good of others.

Here are a few things to remember as you become a responsible third grader. This year you will have a homework planner to write down homework assignments and due dates for projects. It is your responsibility to make sure you are writing down the assignments posted on the board every morning. Also, it is your responsibility to check Ms. Crimmel’s homework page every night. Mom and/or Dad can help you with this.  All assignments, quizzes and tests will be posted as well as important information about class and school activities.  Please make sure you check Miss Allegro’s homework page every night as well, for any  Math, Science  and Social Studies homework assignments.

This year SMS will be focusing on the theme We listen, We reflect and We respond. Before the first day of school I would like you to think about what it means to listen to God’s word, reflect on God’s word and respond to God’s word.   We will be doing a fun in-class project the first few days of school to help you understand these words.

Make Jesus first in everything that you do and success will follow. I am looking forward to working with each and every one of you. Together we will have a fabulous 2019-2020 school year!  See you on September 4!
