This Week in Religion

Reflecting on our Faith - 4 Year Olds

Our religion book is Stories of God's Love for four year olds by RCL Benziger. We also use Good God Choices provided by the Diocese of Metuchen. We are focusing on "Love, Courage and Knowledge," as outlined by the Wizard of Oz, our school play this year. Each day we say prayers and read from our Children's Bible. The words for the prayers we learn are below.

    Gentle Jesus Prayer:

    Gentle Jesus hear my prayer

Keep me in your tender care

Be my guide in all I do

Help me live my life for you. Amen.

    Prayer Before Meals:

God is great, God is good.

Let us thank him for our food. Amen.

    Prayer After Meals:

We give you thanks Almighty God

For these and all our graces and blessings

Which we have received from your bounty

    Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

    Prayer of Thanksgiving:

Thank you for the food we eat.

Thank you for the world so sweet.

Thank you for the birds that sing.

    Thank you, God, for everything.

    Lord Jesus Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank you for making each of us special.

Please teach me to treat others with love, kindness and respect.

I want to be more like you. Amen.

    Hail Mary:

Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with You.

Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners,

now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

    The Lord's Prayer:

Our Father whom art in heaven

    Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us.

Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
