This is the homework for Wednesday, November 19, 2008 Important Info:. As a way to show we support the needs of others, we collect food for the Food Bank and money for the missions each week. At the end of each month we choose some raffle winners who have helped with these service projects. To date we have collected 340 pounds of food! Parents - As a new phase of our S.T.A.R.S. program we are beginning F.A.C.E.S. which stands for Fellowship Attained through Cultural Exchange Studies. We hope to enjoy with the students a study of the cultural diversities among us. Using their black and white 3-subject notebook they were asked to have a Table Talk. Explain to your child about their heritage and culture. Is there something you do as a family that has been passed down through the generations or brought to this country from another? Maybe its a special food, holiday event, song, dance, or way of honoring your ancestors. The students were asked to write down up to ten things that tell about their families and ways they share their heritage. We will be sharing this together in class. Is there something you can share with the class that might broaden their horizons about your culture? Please contact me at school if you can share with us. Thanks!
