Interested children received a paper copy of the directions for the Spotlight Button Contest.   Ideas need to be submitted by Friday of this wee.

For my art lovers I gave out the Respect for Life Poster Contest.  It is sponsored by the diocese.  Some of the children are so very talented.  Many enjoy drawing and coloring.  The due date will be February 4, 2008.  Please let me know if your child plans to submit a poster for the contest.

Dear Parents,  We are embarking on a new phase of the Middle States Project you know as S.T.A.R.S.  The new project will be known as F.A.C.E.S.:  Fellowship Attained through Cultural Exchange Studies.  Share ideas you have.

 Third Grade donates to the Food Bank with gusto!  Food Bank needs: peanut butter, jelly, pasta, sauce, cereal, tuna or chicken salad cans, canned fruits and veggies.

• RELIGION - 

• MATH- Today's drill.  Each day this month we will focus on subtraction and multiplication and division tables 0 through 5.  Workbook pages 20 and the top of 23.  Short quiz tomorrow on rounding and estimating skills.

• READING -Make an effort to prepare for the Media Center Project using Kidspirations.  Prepare you list of 3 character traits or adjectives for your character.  Give an example to show that each trait connects with a story example.   The Character quotes will be included along with a simple mask and the children will make oral presentations.  Aim for Friday to compete the trait list with examples and the mask.  Review the OPT Story.

• SPELLING -OPT Unit - Bubbles and Spell/Pen, Friday   - Test pages 13, 15, and 16, Practice Book vocab pg 16 and ** page 17 All for MONDAY.

• SCIENCE 3A - Study water cycle terms.

• LANGUAGE Homeroom work -        ACers #2 keep current.      The final due date for the ACers #2 is January 16. ACers rough drafts must be submitted the week of January 12.  December Book-past due.  Complete the Journal Jotting - New Year's Resolutions for school.
